Tampa Bay, one of the new front-runners to win the NFC, travels to MetLife Stadium on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" where a New York team still clinging to playoff hope waits.

The Buccaneers (5-2) occupy the top spot in the NFC South and are rolling in the past few weeks on the backs of their defense and Tom Brady. The 43-year-old quarterback put up the best stat line of his 21st season against Las Vegas in Week 7, passing for 369 yards and four touchdowns. Scott Miller has quickly emerged as his favorite slot receiver. Miller will be asked to have an even larger role as the Buccaneers will be without Chris Godwin for a few weeks after breaking a finger. The receiving corps will earn a boost next week with the addition of Antonio Brown.

The Giants (1-6) are still lurking around the NFC East picture, but took a major hit to their playoff chances last week by blowing a fourth-quarter lead to Philadelphia on "Thursday Night Football." New York has been next to awful on offense this season without the help of an injured Saquon Barkley, ranking 31st in both points (17.4) and yardage (282.4). Daniel Jones' game has been improving after not throwing a touchdown pass for four straight weeks. The second-year starter has a least one touchdown pass in each of his last two games and could have had an 80-yard rushing touchdown last week before tripping on his own feet near the goal line.

The teams have met in each of the last three seasons, with each score being decided by three or fewer points. This is the second "Monday Night Football" game for New York and the first of two for Tampa.
