How much could the Bengals get in return for A. J. Green if they decide to move the star wide receiver?

According to CBS Sports, several general managers around the league believe Cincinnati could get a first-round pick in exchange for the veteran. There are a few caveats, though.

"If they wanted to, and they did this right, they could be right there with the Dolphins and Raiders when it comes to 1, 2, and 3s in the next few drafts," one GM said of a potential Bengals rebuild.

The report notes the team interested in Green would need to be able to negotiate a new deal for him, and Green would need to return from his foot injury soon.

Two teams that could be interested in adding Green are the Patriots and Saints, CBS Sports reports.

Green has been recovering from an ankle injury that has delayed his season debut. Green was seen on the rehab field running during practice last week and even made a few catches, according to, which reported "the wideout is inching closer at a return."

Coach Zac Taylor gave an update last week, saying Green has progressed well

but they don't want to rush the receiver's return.

“I take it week-to-week with him. He’s making the progress that we anticipated him making. There hasn’t been any setbacks,” Taylor said. “He’s making steady progress.”

Green suffered the injury early in training camp and underwent surgery in late July. He had his walking boot removed last month.

Green, 31, has made seven Pro Bowls over his eight-year career, which has all been spent with Cincinnati. He caught 46 passes for 694 yards with six touchdowns in nine games last season.
