2015 Home Run Derby to introduce new format

Baseball The Home Run Derby as we know it is no more.This year's edition, set for July 13, will feature a new format that includes brackets and timed rounds. HOME RUN DERBY 2015: Day, time, TV channelStarting with eight players, the field will be whittled down one-by-one in three single-elimination rounds. The seeds will be determined by 2015 home run totals through July 7. If there is a tie, the player with the most home runs since June 15 will be awarded the higher seed. The player with the highest seed will bat second. During each of the three rounds, the batters will have five minutes to hit as many home runs as possible. Players can receive bonus time during their turn based on the length of the home runs they hit. If a batter hits two home runs during a turn that each equal or exceed 420 feet, one minute of bonus time will be added. If one home run during a turn equals or exceeds 475 feet, 30 seconds will be added.If there is a tie at the end of the three rounds between multiple players, a 90-second "swing-off" with no stoppage of time or additional time will occur. there is still a tie after the 90 seconds, the batters will participate in successive three-swing swing-offs until there is a winner.Each batter is allowed one timeout per round.Here are the details:
