PA investigating fitness camp at Mets facility

ciation is investigating a fitness camp that is charging major and minor league players as much as $4,400.The camp is being run by training guru Mike Barwis at the Mets' complex in Port St. Lucie, Fla. According to, players are being charged more than $4,000 while minor leaguers are being required to pay $1,000. The PA’s investigation will likely determine whether or not the camp is mandatory as the organization demands that all offseason camps be voluntary.Barwis is the Mets' senior advisor of strength and conditioning, according to his web site. He previously worked on the Michigan football staff.
